Having problems with the shopping basket

We regularly test our website using a variety of browsers to check that all is working okay. If you are experiencing any problems, this may be down to a number of problems. Quite often this is because you have found our site via a search engine - see above to open the website.

Our website also requires Javascript to be enabled. Some security programs have automatic settings that switch Javascript off as a default. 

To enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer:

1. Click on Tools > Internet Options
2. Click on the Privacy tab
3. Move the slider to Medium
4. Click on the Security tab
5. Move the slider to Medium

To enable JavaScript in Netscape:

1. Edit > Preferences
2. Scroll down and click Advanced
3. Ensure that Enable Javascript is checked

If you have tried all the above and still are experiencing problems - please email us on sales@sparksdirect.co.uk your order along with a daytime telephone contact number and we will get back to you as soon as possible to take your payment details securely.

It would be really useful if you continue to have problems if you would email us brief details on these so that we can look into them and try and resolve them. This - like any feedback - would be most gratefully received. 

Corporate Networks
Many companies have installed hardware and software intercepts within their corporate networks that are put in place to prevent employees from using the Internet for personal purposes. If you are behind a corporate network and unable to add items to your shopping basket or unable to complete the checkout process, you may fall under this category. Please check with your System Administrator to verify your situation.

How to navigate the site

The "Home > Product Catalogue > Help and assistance" at the top of every page indicates where you are in the site. The grey text indicates the page that you are currently on and the links to the left indicate how you got there. To return to the previous logical page use the link to the left of the grey text. You can go all the way back to the homepage by simply clicking on the "Homepage" link.

Next to the grey text is a "<< see previous page" link which works just like the back button on your browser. You can use this link to return to the previous page that you viewed in your browser.

Delivery and payment details

Every inland order incurs a small delivery charge of £10.00 (+ VAT) that will be automatically added to your basket.

Use the "Step 3 >>> Pay online now" button to pay using your credit or debit card and use the "Step 3 >>> Pay offline" button to pay using a cheque or cash on delivery / collection.

Adding items to your shopping basket

There are two types of dialogue in use on the site. The first is for items without options which looks like this

Replace the "1" with the quantity required and hit "Add to Basket". A dialogue box will then appear to confirm your selection.

The second is for items with options which looks like this:

Use the drop down menu to select the exact type of product you require. The price will then be displayed in the "£0.00" box as shown above. Once you have selected the style replace the "1" with the quantity required and hit the "+" button (add to basket). If you require help at any point use the "?" button to bring up a quick reminder.

Viewing your basket and completing your purchase

To bring up your basket use the basket button at the top of the screen or use the button at the top of any product page.

When you want to complete the transaction use the button on the basket page or select the button next to the view basket icon.

Fill in your details on the checkout page and select the payment type you require to continue.
