The low voltage star track system can be wired quite easily by making simple connections into the appropriate live end (ensure the use of the correct size cable, see table).

All track spotlights are prewired so they simply fit onto the track. Tracks come in 1 metre and 2 metre lengths, but if needed can be cut to any length.

Once you have selected your preferred track and relevant mounting accessories, we recommend fixing every one metre (ie. 2 metre track requires 3 fixings).

Some of the fittings are also available with a jack plug, these can be plugged into recessed plates, which means that you can achieve aesthetic continuity throughout your design/installation.

When using the 12V300VA transformer, because of its alloy construction, sometimes when fitted in metallic areas (ie; foil backed plasterboard) it can over heat because of ‘eddie’ currents. This can be remedied by the use of a 6mm central nylon fixing rod, (Part Number ROD1 £1.00).

Ensure that you use a minimum of 6mm² cable between transformer and track/wire and keep the length to a minimum by mounting transformer as near to track/wire as possible.
