People put some thought and some extra work into it. It's no longer "cialis" or "viagra", and not even a comment of "nice blog post, please visit my site".
No, these days I even like reading the spam comments, laugh a bit, think for a second, copy them to a text file, then mark them "Spam Comment". It's very interesting that Askimet does not mark them as spam right away, but they are allowed to go through...

Why? Well, you don't want people to write all kinds of hate comments, spam comments, or self-promoting stuff under an article on which you labored and researched a long time for.
You write things you're interested in, and others come and "dump a comment" there with no moderation... There are many GOOD comments also, many requests, etc, but some are just... spam!
Yes, intelligent and cleverly devised spam - but still, not-useful and not-to-the-point comments.
