The DEVIreg Smart 140F1143 in Pure Black is a brilliantly intuitive electronic timer thermostat with great wi-fi connectivity and app control. The thermostat is primarily used for controlling electrical floor heating elements and is designed for fixed installation only, working perfectly with other DEVI products such as DEVImat Underfloor Heating.

Note: as with every thermostat, this Danfoss DEVIreg thermostat comes with a floor sensor, which can be used with it; it also works with other sensors (see the PDF files below).

The key benefit of the Devireg is its IOT: the clever connectability and ability to communicate with other devices. As long as it is connected by Wi-Fi, the Smart App can be controlled from anywhere, at anytime. The Devireg is fast and innately easy to set up and use, especially if you utilise the pre-installed App wizard.

The innovative features employed by the DEVIreg are truly top-of-the-range in the field of thermostats. It has an open window detector and an energy-saving program, including an optimal start/end control which ensures the desired temperature is reached at the correct time. This makes for an ultimately energy-efficient piece of technology, cost-effective for those looking to save on their energy bills. It comes with an installation wizard for room/floor type-specific setup, supports multiple frames and third party NTC sensors.

Smart access to the thermostat settings after installation uses a web code interface for easy set-up (in a matter of seconds) or remote troubleshooting, in case of any problems. What’s more, an incredible 10 smart devices can all be connected to a single thermostat. All these features make this a smart technology device that will enable you handle your home temperature more easily than ever before.

Please note: this item is non-returnable; due to the fact that it has an electronic component, we cannot take this item back for a refund.

Intelligently designed with a 2-part construction, it is capable of fitting a wide range of frames and sensors, and comes in a pure white to add style to its substance.

DEVIreg Intelligent Thermostat - Installation

  • Please follow these placement guidelines: the thermostat should be placed at a suitable height on your wall (typically 80-170cm). It should never be placed in ‘wet zones’ (must be installed outside bathroom zone 2). The thermostat should not be placed on the inner side of a poorly insulated exterior wall, and should always be placed at least 50 cm from windows and doors, due to draft. Do not expose the thermostat to direct sunlight.
  • The first step is placing the floor sensor in protective plastic conduit within a floor floor construction, where the floor is not exposed to sunlight or draft from door openings. The thermostat should be equidistant from the heating cables on both sides by more than 2 cm. The conduit should be flush with the floor surface: countersink the conduit if necessary. Route the conduit connection to the connection box and make sure the bending radius of the conduit is at least 50 mm.
  • Connect the thermostat according to the diagram provided: ensure that the screen of the heating cable is connected to the earth conductor of the power supply cable by using a separate connector. Then, fasten the thermostat firmly to a flush mounted wall box or exterior wall box by driving the screws through the holes in each side of the thermostat.
  • Finally, add the frame before assembling the top part of the snap lock/ bottom section. Click the front part module in place and pay attention in relation to the female header, make sure not to bend the connectors. Press carefully until the frame is fixed against the rubber gasket and it fixes into place.
  • Typical areas for installation: Any interior wall that is most convenient and within easy reach. Areas to be avoided include those exposed to direct sunlight, air vents, your kitchen, hallways, windows and doors.

How DEVImat Electrical Underfloor Heating Warms up Homes and Shops (showcases)

The pioneering DEVI has an illustrious history in electric underfloor heating - being the first company of its kind - established in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1942. They became the leading electrical heating manufacturer in the market, and are now considered the best within the industry. Accordingly, they have a loyal customer base that is always growing - perhaps finding the 20-year full warranty (on certain purchases such as the DEVImat) with the 'DEVIwarranty' to be the icing on the cake. So this winter,  there's only one company to turn to when the question of underfloor heating arises. DEVI can provide you with an outstanding range of DEVImats of all sizes for your convenience, plus DEVIreg thermostats that offer hassle-free heating control. The combination of these two DEVI products is a match made in heaven, as outlined in this article here. If you need more convincing, we will dazzle you with select showcases of some of DEVI's most distinguished success stories - from apartments in the UK to Middle Eastern cold stores.Case Study 1: Cambridge Marque Residential buildings When first introduced in 2015, Cambridge's Marque residential buildings were touted as representing an 'iconic addition to an old city'. At 2697 square feet, it is easily the tallest residential building in the eminent city and boasts a luxurious layout. There are plenty of life-enhancing facilities on offer, such as secure underground parking, residents-only gym, a private garden plus a 24 hour concierge service. Naturally, the next deluxe addition for the project was some wonderful underfloor bathroom heating for the Marque's residents: and DEVI were first on the list for the job. The products were all quickly installed with minimal issues and complications by the DEVI UK team.  The Marque's Head of Electric Center said of the job DEVI had implemented: DEVI managed to get a large quantity of mats on the site at short notice... DEVI has been extremely helpful and thorough in assisting me throughout the project. Our contractor... has been very pleased with the quality and ease of installing the DEVIcomfort and Thermostat. Buy Devireg Thermostats and Underfloor HeatingCase Study 2: The Energy Plus House in Denmark Solar panels powering and heating a house during the freezing cold winter months in Scandinavia, where the sun never shines? Sounds a tricky proposition. Well, the Energy+ House in Norway has gone some distance to achieving this goal, even managing to produce more heat than it receives. It does this with the help of - you guessed it - DEVImat electric underfloor heating and a ventilation system with heat recovery. The combined heating and ventilation system are controlled via a single panel and is able to run maintenance free. What's more is that the Energy+ house requires no special structures and is apparently replicable in all types of buildings. The Energy+ House massively benefits from the DEVILink system, a two way communication system that can all be easily controlled from an optimally placed colour touch screen. The system provides complete floor heat control combined with room sensors to afford occupants with the highest levels of comfort. This results in substantial energy savings due to the individually adjusted periods of temperature lowering - a key factor for achieving a healthy and comfortable climate in modern homes. Case study 3: DEVImat Underfloor Heating in a Panda Store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia One of the Middle East's largest cold stores, a 'Panda' store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has been outfitted with DEVI complete protection system. This was quite an undertaking, as temperatures can drop to -30 degrees Celsius across this vast expanse of retail area, and inadequate heating could lead to the loss of huge amounts of frost-exposed produce. The total size of the project is 8,000 m2 and the total installed power consumption is approximately 160kW. It was completed without a hitch and a representative of Danfoss Dubai stated, regarding the unqualified success of the undertaking, that: We are glad that DEVI was chosen as the reliable partner for the construction of the biggest Middle Eastern cold store... we strongly believe that DEVI meets all expectations and demands required by such large construction projects Buy Devimat Underfloor Heating MatsSo is DEVImat definitely the antidote for freezing floors this crispy Christmas season? The three case studies given in this article were a few among many. DEVI has consistently proven itself to be a reliable and the most sought-after electrical heating specialist on the globe. But are they are good fit for your home? The answer is quite simply, yes. We here at Sparks can offer DEVImats, DEVIcomforts and DEVIregs at extremely affordable prices, with easy installation (as demonstrated in this article here), and excellent communication between DEVI products across any type of building. A short video guide for DEVI underfloor installation:  DEVI aim their products at members of the general public above anyone else, even with the grand-scale projects exampled in this article, and should be your first port of call for underfloor heating this Christmas!

What is a Smart Thermostat and Why Now is the Right Time to Invest in One

The advent of smart technology in the 21st century has benefited us in all walks of life; from voice-controlled smartphones obeying our every order to Fitbits tracking our health levels, smart technology is revolutionising how we live. The latest trend you should be turning to is smart thermostats, for the simple reason they can save you some serious money on your electricity bills. What is a Smart Thermostat? A conventional room thermostat allows the temperature in your home to be changed manually, via a dial or control panel. Meanwhile, smart thermostat will allow for a more effective, user-friendly and accessible way to control your home's heating. Many smart thermostats utilise the 'Internet of Things' (IoT) which offers internet connectivity for remote management, programming, and monitoring. This is especially useful for a variety of features, such as the ability to notify the thermostat when the owner is on the way home so it can adjust the temperature accordingly.Buy a Smart Thermostat today Benefits of a smart thermostat The smart thermostat is particularly useful to someone who is working or frequently on the go, one who doesn't have time to dabble over a thermostat when they get back. A smart thermostat won’t save money in the short run, unless the temperature varies wildly from morning to evening, but it will pay off in the long run if the house can be heated or cooled efficiently. As your smartphone receives reports about the usage and situation of the smart thermostat, you can utilise these to better understand your own heating and cooling usage. This in turn enables you to adjust its behaviour and preferences, which could save money, while maintaining the house at a comfortable temperature. The exact amount a thermostat may save you is obviously dependent on various factors: the type of thermostat, the insulation of your property and how you take advantage of its features. However, many studies claim a smart thermostat will manage to pay for itself within a year. According to some studies, smart thermostats may save your energy bills ranging from 31-37%, which may amount up to £130 per year! Features and uses of smart thermostats What's even better is that smart thermostats are becoming increasingly affordable. A top-of-the-line Danfoss Devireg Smart thermostat will set you back a little over £100, down from its initial list pricing of over double that price, while the less expensive one is just over £50 + VAT (see the DEVIreg Touch Screen). The Devireg is an intelligent electronic timer thermostat with Wi-Fi connectivity and App control. It truly makes use of the IoT, allowing you to wirelessly control your electrical heating via your smartphone - either via an Android phone or an iPhone. For instance, on a chilly winter morning, you can wake up and even manage the temperature of your underfloor heating as you get ready for the day. And when you take a shower and it is under 5 degrees Celsius outside, it is so comfortable to step out of the shower and feel the warm floors under your feet... A smart thermostat works with all the heating elements in the house - which can be remotely controlled, and it allows you to make sure the house is warm enough when people are around, and also that the heat is not ON when no one is at home. The smart thermostat features are bound to save you money on electricity bills. For instance, it has an open window detector and an energy-saving program that includes an optimum start/end control that ensures the desired temperature is reached at the correct time, therefore reducing heating costs. We here at Sparks sell a variety of Deviregs, and they come highly recommended if you wish to delve into the smart thermostat market.Smart Thermostats at SparksWho would Use a Smart Thermostat? The tech-savvy Smart thermostats are sure to suit certain people more than others. The tech-savvy smartphone or computer users amongst us will likely benefit from the smart thermostat, as they can and will easily check how much their heating is costing them. Those on a regular routine Those with a regular routine will likely profit from a smart thermostat, as many of them will learn your routine and ensure it is warm exactly when it needs to be. As stated earlier, those on the move will be grateful to return home to find themselves in a welcoming house warming itself just in time for their arrival. Businesses Businesses are in the practice of saving money where they can, so of course, they have turned their attention to smart thermostats. According to some studies, such IoT-enabled thermostats can make workplaces vastly more energy-efficient. As an employer, you can inform the device of the standard working hours of your employees. This will allow the smart thermostat to heat up or cool down the office to a comfortable and productive temperature before your employees arrive and cut costs on any wasted energy it might have consumed after they left. What's more is that you can programme smart thermostats to adjust to certain seasons or conditions, from excessive humidity to wintry chills. Given the option, some smart thermostats will consistently attempt to lower the temperature by a degree or two. This may not be enough for you or your staff to notice, but could save you hundreds on your energy bills each year. So, with the smart thermostats looking 'future-proof' by all accounts, the main question you have to ask yourself is why not invest in one right now?
