This is the Forbes and Lomax X2GPO/PAINTED, a two gang push ON/OFF rotary switch painted plate and brass knob, manufactured by Forbes and Lomax.
Please note: by default, the insert is unlacquered brass; it is shiny/polished brass, which after time becomes aged brass (there is a patina), which can be polished to become shiny again. The insert is unlacquered, designed to mellow with age if left unpolished to match older brass fittings in the home.
It looks like a rotary dimmer but it has only the function of switching ON or OFF (ideal for matching with others rotary dimmers from Forbes and Lomax).
About the Forbes and Lomax Dimmer Switches
- The Forbes and Lomax dimmer switches are 2-way and can dim either Halogen Lamps, LED Lamps or 0-10v lights.
- Dimmers can also act as dummy dimmers (as it is the case with this one); they can be regular on/off 2 way or intermediate.
- However, dimmers cannot be combined with dolly switches or rocker switches.
- The Forbes and Lomax dimmer switches are available in the following finishes: the Unlacquered Brass Range, the Nickel Silver Range, the Verdigris Range, the Invisible Lightswitch® Range, the Antique Bronze Range, the Stainless Steel Range, the Aged Brass Range.
- 2 Gang Push ON/OFF Rotary Switch - Specs
- It is a two gang rotary switch on a single size plate - it looks like a dimmer but it has the function of a switch.
- Standards: Conforms with IEC 669-2-1 or BSEN 60669-2-1
- All Forbes and Lomax rotary dimmer switches require British standard 35mm deep flush wall boxes (to be ordered separately).
- Plate dimensions: 86mm x 86mm
About the Forbes and Lomax Painted Range
- It is designed to complement the invisible lightswitch range from Forbes and Lomax.
- The primed ready to paint plates are flush to the wall and can be painted in the same colour as a room and therefore, be disguised on a wall or skirting board, making them as unobtrusive as possible.
- For the Painted switch, there is a choice of dolly (toggle) or rocker switches and dimmers, which are available with either conventional knobs or buttons. These are supplied in Brass, Brushed Brass, Nickel Silver, Stainless Steel and Antique Bronze.
- Painted sockets are available with black or white inserts and come with radius or square edge corners.
- These are ideal for low level sockets, blending perfectly into their surroundings.
- In the painted range you can have dolly switches, rotary dimmers, button dimmers (momentary switches), rocker switches, sockets, combination range, and European sockets.
- All switches conform to BSEN 60669-1:2018.
- 13amp sockets conform to BS1363-2:2016 +A1: 2018, 2amp and 5amp sockets conform to BS546:1950
- Single plates measure 86mm x 86mm and double plates measure 146mm x 86mm
- 13amp sockets and switched fused connections can be supplied with metal switches if desired.
- All Forbes & Lomax switches and sockets require British standard 35mm deep flush wall boxes
