This is a Forbes and Lomax X4GTE250/PAINTED 4 Gang 200W Halogen / 4 x 0-120W Trailing Edge Rotary LED Dimmer with Push On/Off on Double Plate in Painted Plate with Brass Knob.
Please note: by default, the insert is unlacquered brass; it is shiny/polished brass, which after time becomes aged brass (there is a patina), which can be polished to become shiny again. The insert is unlacquered, designed to mellow with age if left unpolished to match older brass fittings in the home.
Each dimmer is suitable for up to 120W of dimmable LED lighting (max 10 lamps) or up to 200W of good quality mains voltage incandescent and halogen bulbs - per gang, as well as good quality electronic low voltage transformers.

- Part of the Forbes & Lomax Trailing Edge Rotary Dimmers, LED Dimmers, and Push On/Off switches.
- This is an LED compatible dimmer, which means that it can work with up to 10 LED lamps, taking loads of 0W - 120W in total per gang.
- Can dim LED lights (if the LEDs are good quality dimmable LED lights) and can switch any kind of loads.
- Four rotary dimmers on a twin plate, wider plate for horizontal mounting on the wall.
- Finish: Painted Plate with Brass Knob
- It fits a double back box.
- This is suitable for incandescent/low voltage loads, compact low energy dimmable fluorescent loads, and some mains LED applications.
- The Forbes and Lomax trailing edge dimmers are soft start, giving a gradual increase or decrease in the intensity of the light when they are switched ON or OFF and therefore extending the lamp life.
- Superior trailing edge technology reduces noise and flicker. It uses a Varilight V-Pro intelligent dimmer switch, programmable (see the instructions).
- Suitable for good quality mains voltage incandescent and halogen bulbs, as well as good quality electronic low voltage transformers and dimmable low energy lighting (CFL or LED).
- Intelligent, self-resetting protection is included to protect the dimmer from overload.
- Ideal for dimming most mains voltage dimmable LED light bulbs and LED lights.
- Not suitable for use with wirewound transformers.
- Matching push on/off switches allow us to provide switches that look like a dimmer and offer the ability to mix dimmers and switches on the same plate while keeping a uniform look.
- This dimmer is suitable for 0W - 120W of dimmable LED lighting (max 10 lamps) or up to 200W of good quality mains voltage incandescent and halogen bulbs - per gang, as well as good quality electronic low voltage transformers.
About the Forbes and Lomax Painted Range
- It is designed to complement the invisible lightswitch range from Forbes and Lomax.
- The primed ready to paint plates are flush to the wall and can be painted in the same colour as a room and therefore, be disguised on a wall or skirting board, making them as unobtrusive as possible.
- For the Painted switch, there is a choice of dolly (toggle) or rocker switches and dimmers, which are available with either conventional knobs or buttons. These are supplied in Brass, Brushed Brass, Nickel Silver, Stainless Steel and Antique Bronze.
- Painted sockets are available with black or white inserts and come with radius or square edge corners.
- These are ideal for low level sockets, blending perfectly into their surroundings.
- In the painted range you can have dolly switches, rotary dimmers, button dimmers (momentary switches), rocker switches, sockets, combination range, and European sockets.
- All switches conform to BSEN 60669-1:2018.
- 13amp sockets conform to BS1363-2:2016 +A1: 2018, 2amp and 5amp sockets conform to BS546:1950
- Single plates measure 86mm x 86mm and double plates measure 146mm x 86mm
- 13amp sockets and switched fused connections can be supplied with metal switches if desired.
- All Forbes & Lomax switches and sockets require British standard 35mm deep flush wall boxes
