You might have seen our previous Halloween post but completely forgot to decorate your home in time. That's okay; we do the same thing every year. Don't panic! There's still time to make some interesting decorations. We have three more ideas for you:
1. A Menacing Jack-o-Lantern
Our opinion is that you can't go wrong with a Jack-o-Lantern. If you can still find a pumpkin this close to the big day, simply cut a scary face into the front of it and light it from within.It's easy enough with a candle, but slotting it over a post light would do the trick, too, with a suitably sized hole cut into the bottom of the squash.
If you're feeling adventurous, you could also connect the lights to a motion sensor so that the Jack-O-Lantern's face lights up when someone walks past.
2. Spooky Silhouettes
Of course, there are very few things spookier than the vague shape of a person standing watching you from inside the house - but there's no need to stand there all night by yourself.Simply cut out a human figure from black card or paper and attach it to the inside surface of the windows.
And for bonus terror, illuminate your new friend from behind with a bright floodlight.
This portable light offers the illumination of a powerful 300W incandescent bulb, but doesn't consume the same amount of electricity thanks to its energy-saving lamp.
3. A String of Glowing Eyeballs
Making a string of dangling, glowing, disembodied eyeballs is simple but effective - all you need is a pack of ping-pong balls, some marker pens, and some appropriate lights.
The Cielo Stellato are LEDs, so there's no danger of melting the eyeballs, and they come in white, green and blue for maximum spookiness. Just draw an eye on the balls and insert the LED through an X-shape cut in the back. It's quick, easy, and, er... eye-catching.
